1. Sexy

Maggie: Don't be mistaken that having cleavage is sexy. I have many guy
friends so I know this very well. The sexy woman they like must be
smart and confident; intelligent and independent. Plus, a sexy woman must be
liked by both men and women.

For example...
Maggie: I really admire another Maggie, Maggie Cheung, she fits the two
qualities that I just said.

2. Exposed
(Everywhere Maggie goes people seem to only focus on what she is
wearing and the chances of taking a dirty picture...)

Maggie: I think you should be brave to do what you want to do. I agreed
to do nude scenes wasn't because I like to show off my body. It's about
combining myself to the script and the director's ideas so I made the
sacrifices. It is also a challenge. There are a bunch of crew members
around the set while filming nude scenes. It is very hard to act naturally
when people are watching you. Yet a lot of people don't realize that. They
wouldn't understand, especially Hong Kong people.

3. Busy

Maggie: I was very busy towards the end of last year. I was in a play
along with the American actor George Clooney. We were doing 11 shows. I was
jet-setting through Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan all the time. Every
afternoon I had to be in the Hong Kong theater for the play. I turned
down a lot of jobs over this. Doing a play is hard work and the salary is
little. But I didn't care because I love to perform. I like it when I am on the
stage and having eye contact with the audience. It's a magical moment.
I like a challenge because I could learn a lot.

- I heard that you were designing for the FFrench leatherwear label
Lancel?

Maggie: That's because the owner is a good friend of mine. I was the
spokeperson for Lancel's fall/winter campaign. While I was chatting
with my friend the owner, We discovered that we had similar fashion
sense. So I was invited to design the kinds of hand bag that I like.
I'm constantly traveling so I have my own idea for functional bags. I drew
two traveling bag pictures for them. The feedback was pretty good which I was happy
about. I would definitely do it again if there is a chance.

4. Goal

- Do you like your current lifestyle? What''s your career goal? To be an
idol or a superstar?

Maggie: Sure I like it. I'm very happy. But the future just depends on
my own feelings. My mother said to me: "Beauty doesn't last". The world is
changing right as we speak. I think I would go behind the camera
someday. That's why I'm trying to be a producer now and learning about how to make varity of shows and low-budget
films.

- Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Maggie: I'm not afraid to age. The only thing that I'm sure of in 20
years is that I will be living a peaceful life. I will be very calm and
relaxed. I can't tell at this point whether or not I'm going to have a family
because I can't decide if I liked children. Though I know I love dogs (laughs).
(Maggie is a well-known dog lover. She has two dogs in her home in Hong
Kong. One of them is called Lady)

5. Fashion

Maggie: Fashion... the most important point is to be "comfortable".
That is to know yourself first then to search for the things that suit you.
Being fashionable doesn't mean you have to wear outrages clothes. It's all
about what you feel. Then there's "expressing yourself". Sometimes you can
explore a different style and if you feel that you look good, you probably have
found your own style.

- Give Shanghaiese women your fashion advisse.

Maggie: I have a good impression of women in Shanghai. They won't judge
you like the way Hong Kong people do. They are really great to party with
and they have a good reputation. But I think they care about "what's in"
too much. If they could think about what they really want, they could
be stunning!

6. City (Maggie Q loves traveling)

Maggie: Prague is the most romantic city. The whole city seems to be so
dreamy when The fog covers the streets and bridges in the early morning. It is
like a movie. The most fashionable city would be Paris, of course. You can
tell people have spent their time dressing up.

7. Men

Maggie: An attractive man must also be confident. I don't like a humble,
insecure man. But don't be too confident. I wouldn't talk to him
anymore if I found out that he was a self-centered person. As for the kind of man
I like... the look is second, what I want is to be comfortable around
him. That's the way women are, no? (laughs)
(I asked Maggie to pick a few men for examples. When we touched upon
the men in Hong Kong, her first choice was her ex-boyfriend Daniel Wu)

Maggie: I'm in the show business but I don't like to make friends that
are also in the business. I don't like the idea of going to karaoke or
parties with the same group of people after a hard day of work. It's very
tiring. Daniel is the one and only person that is quite like me. He's been in
the business for 10 years now but he is still a very simple, honest and
confident person who doesn't care how other people live their lives.

- You are working with Daniel recently. Eveeryone is curious if you two
were going back together.

Maggie: Oh I don't know about this... just let it be. I only know that
when it comes I will know how to handle it.

- Who is your current boyfriend?

Maggie: (laughs) I can't tell. But you can understand it. In the past
whenever I said anything my private life was disturbed. So I cannot
say.

(US: Brad Pitt)

Maggie: What I admire about Brad Pitt is that he's the sexiest man in
the world but he gets married when he feels like it. "I love this woman and
I'm going to marry her". He doesn't give a damn if his fans were going to
leave him for that. He said "If my fans couldn't accept the fact that I'm
getting married, they aren't true fans". Of course, he is a genius. He is real.

(China: Cheung Fung Ngai)

Maggie: I was filming a tv drama in Beijing in 1998. I was very young
(19) and nervous. He at the time was already a top actor yet he had a great
attitude while working. I was nobody and I had no experience. He would
pull me aside and told me what to do. I'd also met other famous people at
that time but they were very disappointing. Now when I go to China I still
call him up and say hi.

(Japan: Nakata)

Maggie: He puts his career on the top of his list. He worked very very
hard to be the most outstanding one and brought fame to Japan. I care so
much about him. We had such a wonderful time in Italy. (Maggie was
heartbroken over the rumors but she seems happy when she talks about Nakata)
