Fresh off the plane from Paris, former model, now actress-on-the-rise, Maggie Q talks to Will Clem about acting, art and the responsibilities of stardom.

"I got off work at seven o'clock this morning and went home and got a few hours, then came here and I'll have to work again at 6pm until tomorrow morning, again. Night shoots in Hong Kong just kill you!" Maggie Q is a busy girl. Just days previously, she got off the plane from France - where she was taking part in Paris Fashion Week - and began work on a new film almost immediately. Repeated night shoots have aggravated the effects of jet lag, and must be playing havoc with her body clock. By rights, she ought to be in bed right now, giving up precious hours of sleep for our photo shoot. Yet, if Maggie is fatigued, the Hawaii born Eurasian (American father, Vietnamese mother) doesn't show it one bit: she's talkative and chatty; she jokes and gossips with the stylist and the photographer; she listens intently to what other people have to say and gets excited when the conversation turns to topics she really cares about. Maggie Q two nights ago attended a Salvatore Ferragamo party in Shanghai and danced with designer Graeme Black. She revealed that she has just completed MAGIC KITCHEN (MOR WAN CHU FONG) and that she thought Sammi Cheng Sau Man did not like her. "At first I thought because I wasn't Chinese, she didn't like me. Later I realize Sammi is very nice. (Jerry) Yin Sing Yuk likes small animals more than acting."

Maggie Q and Louis Koo Tin Lok yesterday promoted a charity walk in the Mai Po Nature Reserve. Maggie Q said that she never knew that Hong Kong had such a nature reserve. Even though she could not understand the brief description of the area in Chinese, she was willing to help with the Reserve's fund raising events

Maggie Q yesterday at a diamond event admitted that days ago she attended a party of her fashion sponsor Celine but denied that she took the initiative and dance with the executives to kiss up. She also talked about her ideal wedding ring. "When I get married, the size of the diamond is not important. Actually I warm up to people very slowly and am very demanding. I have a hard time getting into a relationship. I like someone who is smart, confident and manly. I hate men who like to show off and are indecisive." As for her old flame Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), she said, "He and I have already become the history, now I only want to develop my future. Ultimately he was my most serious, most involved relationship."
